Edit Note

Camera

The first thing that needed to be done before the editing could begin was choose the editing program. Adobe Premiere Pro was the best possible option for me. After the clips were imported, the first focus was color correction, which took about two hours to complete. Since the video was recorded in S-Log, special consideration was given to the color grading process. Three distinct color schemes were purposefully chosen, all of which complemented the story's emphasis on The Hitman, the forensic scientists, and the two main protagonists, Samuel Jenkins and Benjamin Black, respectively. After completion, a large amount of time was spent creating the film's rough cut, which created a strong structural framework for all that was left to come.

Sound

Then, great care was taken to synchronize microphone audio with the video clips so that the final product would have crystal-clear, high-quality sound without any unnecessary background noise. The next stage was sound design, where the incorporation of sound effects like doors being kicked in, the house bell ringing, and the trunk closing were all emphasized upon. To increase realism, every sound was meticulously timed. Because it takes time to find music that fits a scene, decisions about music selection were postponed until later. The preferred tone was eerie and mysterious, influenced by the cinematic works of Quentin Tarantino, incorporating elements of horror and violence without venturing too far into the genre.

Finishing Touches

After these steps were finished, choosing a suitable title screen and credits was the last step. The decision to use a glitch title was made on purpose in order to complement the modern style of the mystery and horror genres. To finish it off, I added a crop to the top and bottom of the film to replicate the black bars of a western mystery film.
